Planning a Hassle Free Trip to The Coast
Are you planning a trip to the coast soon and want a nice relaxing weekend? If so, I have a few things you could do to help ensure that your trip is hassle free.
Find a place to stay
At the minute there are some right bargains to be had if you’re planning a stay on the Yorkshire coast in the coming weeks. It’s classed as off-season at the current time so prices are a lot cheaper than they would be in the summer months for example if you wanted to stay in Scarborough this weekend it would cost you £110 for two nights whereas the same hotel and room for two nights for a weekend in July would cost you £203. Use a price comparison site or a hotel finder to ensure that you get the most for your money.
Travel without stress
Sometimes it’s easier to just jump in the car and drive to the coast. We do it all the time when visiting our family and friends but it can also be stressful. The traffic can sometimes mean an hour journey takes double the amount of time. If you’re planning a weekend away with friends and you’re planning on partying why not take the train. It not only takes out the stress of travelling but you can check your train times before you leave meaning you can plan your visit better and not have to worry about waiting around. If no one is driving then everyone can enjoy the journey and start relaxing at the start of the weekend.
Don’t plan too much
Some of the best days and nights away I’ve ever had are the ones where there has been no plan involved. Even when we went to New York for a week other than getting married and going to the Top of the Rock we had no plans. It was lovely to get up and just walk in one direction and see where it took us. We were relaxed as we weren’t stressing to fit too much in and we weren’t disappointed if we were unable to see all the sights. When we go again in 2023 other than seeing the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and fifth avenue shop windows we’ll have no plans in place. We found the best pizza in New York and had the most amazing Italian meal by coincidence.
Find something fun to do
Although many of the touristy hotspots are closed or have shorter opening hours at this time of year it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy a couple of days away at the coast. Take your walking boots, wrap up warm and enjoy a stroll or two along the coastline – make sure you check the local weather and tide forecasts as these can be unpredictable at this time of year.
Why not take the chance to eat at a local restaurant or pub in the quieter season. At this time of year, you can sample all they have to offer without them being overly busy. It’s the perfect time to visit especially if you don’t like overcrowded places.
