Is Your Garden Ready For Spring?
It’s the time of year where we need to start thinking about getting our garden ready for spring and summer. In the colder months, it’s really easy to forget about the garden until now, which usually leave a fairly long list of tasks that need to be completed before we can finally enjoy our gardens in the sunshine. Although it’s still not warm enough for us to be dining outside or spending our evenings relaxing on our outside sitting area, it’s definitely starting to feel more like spring which means it’s about time to take action and put a plan in place.

Let’s have a look at some of the things you should think about updating in your garden ready for spring:
Any Repairs
Although some repairs may need to wait until there is less chance of rain such as using cement or painting the fences, it doesn’t mean that you can’t get prepped ready for them. Have a walk around your garden and note down any repairs that need to be done. Include things such as repairs to fences, chipped walkways or driveways, broken flower beds and broken decking. You can then make a list of all the essentials you will need in order to complete the repairs. Starting to buy some of these items now will enable you to complete the work when the weather is good enough to do so. As weather can be unpredictable, it pays off to be prepared and ready to take action when you can.
Think About Plants
Spring is the time of year was many of the familiar garden plants that we know and love are ready to be planted. This means that you need to start thinking about the types of plants or vegetables you would like to include in your garden his year and then put a plan in place to get started. You need to have somewhere to pot them such as a greenhouse, you can visit Cultivar for some great options, the right seeds or saplings and essentials such as a spade and compost. Again the nest thing to do is to start getting a few bits and bob ready now and stock up ready for when you get the time and the weather to start your planting.
Improve Your Seating Area
One of the main things that people use their garden as a way to enjoy the outdoors. It’s often seen as an extension of your home and should be used that way. Whether you host an alfresco dining night, enjoy your favourite glass of wine in the evening or sit and watch the kids explore the outdoors, having a comfortable seating area is essential. You want to think about things like if you want a patio or decking? How much seating do you need? Is there a shaded area available? And do you need space for a heater in the evenings?
These are just three of the areas you should think about when updating your garden ready for the spring, do have anything else that should of being included? Please share them in the comments.
