Trying to Find The Perfect Birthday Presents for a Soon to be 12 Year Old
I can’t believe that the youngest member of our family is turning 12 in a few weeks time. I know it’s a cliche but time really does go by so fast as it only seems like two minutes since he was a baby.
Just after his older brothers birthday in April he told me that as it’s his birthday next (it’s in June) he needed to start getting his birthday list ready for everyone. I told him to hold his horses for a couple of weeks as me and his dad needed a rest before we moved on to the next lot of birthday shopping. Fast forward 6 weeks and he hasn’t brought me a list or mentioned it since, so I shall be asking him for some ideas soon (you can’t win can you).
He isn’t that hard to buy presents for but I am finding that as he is getting old he’s asking for fewer toys and more electronic / video game related presents. He isn’t on his own though as his older 3 brothers are exactly the same.
This year though we have said that we are limiting this and they have to choose a few presents that aren’t game or games related. Now, this was quite easy for Callum as he loves football, F1 and as a fashion-conscious teenager, he wanted new trainers and clothes. James on the other hand is proving a little more difficult than I thought but I will not be defeated. A Flashing LED Baseball Cap
James always wears a cap (just like his dad) so a flashing LED cap would make a very cool present for him. This stylish black cap has an electric blue LED strip around the peak and has an adjustable velcro fastening for a comfortable fit. It has four settings and can be easily turned on and off thanks to its handily located switch on the side of the cap.
A Smart Ball
As James loves playing football I’m pretty sure that a football that glows and counts aloud when doing Keepy Uppys and other tricks would make a great present. The ball will keep score up to 100 and it lights up with every touch. This ball can also be used on a pitch by simply removing the sensor and screwing a bung to the ball to turn it into a normal football.
A Floating Target Game
James always likes to compete against his brothers so this target game would be perfect. The aim of the game is to shoot the floating targets with sucker darts. Simply place the soft styrofoam balls onto the target air base, switch it on and watch as the balls float in the air.
