Tracks of My Years – Winging Mamahood

Tracks of My Years is back this week and we have some lovely bloggers who are going to be sharing their favourite songs with us over the next few weeks.

Let’s see what Tracks the lovely Joanne has in her collection.

I’m Joanne from wingingmamahood.com. You can also find me over on twitter @wingjngmamahood and Instagram @wingingmamahood. I think music is SO important. Every time I’m in the car and an oldish song comes on the radio it reminds me of either a certain time, memory or person! Whether it be a sad memory or a happy one it’s so important to listen.

Ub40 – I Got You Babe

When I was a child my parents LOVED this song! It was “their song.” Without a doubt every time this came on they’d get up, sing to each other and dance. That’ll always remind me of my childhood and the bond between my dear parents.

Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight

My dad is crazy about Phil Collins, he’s his favourite singer! When I was young he used to have a few beers at the weekend and just sit listening to his albums. I found it extremely annoying at the time but thinking back it was so lovely!

Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love

You can tell it’s a good song when you loved it as a 9-year-old and you still love it now! Wo,w what a voice that woman has.

Rihanna – California King Bed

This song I have mixed emotions about! It reminds me of my childhood best friend. We lived on the same street, grew up together for 10 years and then she moved away. I was heartbroken and still am! We had so many good times and this song makes me think about them, I can picture us now walking to the park singing at the top of our lungs!

Crazy Frog

This is one hell of a weird song but it’s SO funny! My brother used to copy the frog’s facial expressions throughout the whole thing and he always had our family howling with laughter.I’m so excited to see what the next years of life have to bring, the sounds I’ll love, the songs I’ll hate and the ones that I will pin to memories!

What do you think about Joanne’s Tracks? I personally think they are great and can really sympathise with her about her best friend moving away. My best friend moved away from me when we were 12 and we have managed to stay in touch all this time, we are even godparents to each other’s children. We don’t see each other as much as we’d like as she is a neonatal nurse in the midland, her hubby works in an airport and we both work long hours here up in Yorkshire. But I am glad we can still share our special friendship all these years later.
