Our Easter Treasure Hunt With A Difference
A little while ago we were asked if we’d like to take part in a special hunt over the Easter weekend. We were asked what things we loved and I knew that F1 was the one thing that all three boys have an interest in. As today is both Easter Sunday and Grand Prix day I thought it was perfect that we should have our treasure hunt today.
I was hoping that the weather would be nice enough so that we could do the hunt outside but as usual, typical Bank Holiday weather is here and it’s been pouring down with rain. However, not to be defeated I thought that they could still take part just in a smaller hunt just inside instead – I hope the weather is a little bit better for tomorrow when we have our family egg hunt (keep your fingers crossed for us) or else we will have to do that inside too.
My Three and Me are currently watching the F1 but whilst we waited for the race to start the boys were able to go hunt for some treasure. Although we are huge F1 fans it’s really not the same without our man Jenson Button in the lineup but we’re keeping an open mind and hoping to find someone new to follow soon. Having just said that James is thrilled with how well his favourite Lewis Hamilton is driving.
I made f1 based clues for the boys to follow. They thought that the lights out start and pit stop clues were the best. I made no entry signs to show that the garden, bathroom and my bedroom was off limits to the hunt. Had I been able to do the hunt outside as planned I wanted to place the clues in an oval or figure of 8 like loop so that they travelled over a track shaped trail.
Halfway through the hunt the boys took a pit stop – as all race fans know all drivers need at least one of these in a race. Whilst on their pit stop the boys had a Fruit Shoot each as refreshments and was ready to hunt again soon after.
The grand prize was hidden in the boy’s bedroom and they were over the moon with what they found. I’m sure the dress up and car-themed toys that we were sent will keep them busy over the next few days especially if the horrible wet weather continues.
