How To Get Your Business Seen and Heard In The Early Days
When you first start out in business it can be very daunting especially if you aren’t seeing the results you had hoped for at the start. But don’t give up just yet as it can be slow in the early days.
If you’ve recently started your business and you’re having a hard time getting the word out there about who you are and what you do don’t be too disheartened. There are a few things you can do to get your business seen and heard these include:
Don’t give up your day job
When I started my business I was lucky, because I was a stay at home mum I could spend time around my children’s routines and build my business up to where it is now. If you are already in a job but want to go it alone with your own business make sure you can support yourself before you walk away. There is no greater feeling than working for yourself in my opinion but it can also be extremely stressful and very time-consuming especially in the early days. If you can work whilst your business is getting off the ground and building up it is a sensible idea to keep working so that you can support yourself in the early days, weeks, month and even years – I have been writing my blog for nine years now but have only been self-employed for the last three years.
Word of Mouth
When your business is new it’s important to get it out there in the open. Talk to family and friends about your new venture and ask them to pass the word around about your business especially if you have worked for them. When you do finally get customers if they’re happy with your work it may prove fruitful to ask them to leave a review on your website and social media channels so that others can see how great your work is. Happy customers are always happy to share their good experiences.
Advertising
Advertising has changed a lot over the last few years. Long gone are the days of relying on word of mouth or an advert in the local paper. Today you can reach thousands of people on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc with just a few quick clicks of a button on your laptop, tablet or mobile phone. If you have a Facebook page for your business you can pay to boost a Facebook post so that it reaches even more people than just those who follow you.
Hire a professional
Following on from my previous point to get the most from your digital marketing once your business has taken off it might be a worthwhile investment if you looked into hiring a digital marketing company or professional like Angela Wei Milk Agency. A company that specialises in digital marketing will be able to take over your online advertising and will help get you seen on social media.
