Corey Advisors – Helping You Get Out of Debt
Being in debt can be scary. It can feel like you’re in a massive hole and there’s no way out. I’m here to tell you that this is wrong. First of all, you need to admit that you have a problem – this will help to organise what needs to be done and will help you to get back on track.
Spend less
You need to stop spending on everything but essentials. It’s amazing how buying a coffee a day or a magazine a week can soon add to your unnecessary outgoings. When doing a food shop make a list before you go to the supermarket and only buy what’s on the list alternatively you could shop online that way you won’t be tempted by anything that might catch your eye. If you are splashing out on a big event like a wedding or you’re just having too many nights out, takeaways, new clothes, concert tickets, holidays etc and you can’t afford them you need to stop. You will feel much better saving up for these type of things rather than putting them all on a credit card or taking out loan after loan.
Earn more
If you work part-time and in a position to work more hours now is the time to ask your boss for the extra overtime. You can use the extra money to pay off your debts quicker. Once they are paid off you can either ask to reduce your hours or save the extra money for a rainy day or all those things you couldn’t afford before. If you can’t get more hours at work it might be time to look for a new job or even a second job to help subsidise your income.
Seek help from Corey Advisors or other professionals
If your debts are out of control and you are feeling that there is no hope in sight you need to seek help. Trying to deal with them alone will only make things worse. Speak to family and friends as they might be able to help you out, if not they might have words of wisdom to help you get your debts in some kind of control. Speaking to a charity like StepChange or the Citizens Advice Bureau will give you a good place to start. If you have a lot of small credit card debts and want to consolidate them all into one you could contact Corey Advisors who will be happy to help you.
Use your savings
If you have savings, now is the time to smash open that piggy bank. You might be sad that you’ve spent all your savings but in the long run you will be much happier knowing that you don’t have debts hanging over your head. If you don’t have enough money saved up to cover all your debts work out which ones you can pay off in full. You can then use this extra money to pay off the others quicker.
If you work hard and are set on paying off your debts you will be debt free before you know it.
