Have you ever promised your child a birthday party of their choice and then wondered how on earth you were going to pull it off without spending a small fortune? If so Craft Party kits may well be the answer to your prayers. They offer an ideal party time solution for keeping up to six kids entertained. Each kit contains everything needed for fun and easy activities that last for about 1½ hours with the added bonus that each child creates their own gift to take home. We were recently sent the Pirate Party kit to review.
The kit includes the following items:
- 6 Pirate Treasure Chests
- 6 Pirate Hats
- 6 Self Adhesive Skull and Crossbone Decals
- 6 Pirate Eye Patches
- 6 Paint Brushes
- 12 Pots of Paint (4 colours – brown, black, yellow and white)
- 24 Imitation Gold Doubloons
- 1 Set of Instructions for Supervising Adult
With this pirate themed kit, boys can paint their very own pirate treasure chest, make a pirate hat and eye patch then take part in fun pirate themed games to win a hoard of pirate treasure. Each kit comes with easy-to-follow instructions and game ideas to keep your little ship mates busy. Games include Treasure Dash, Pass the Cannonball and Peg Leg Pirate. All 3 boys enjoyed playing the games and all James has said since we opened the box is “arrrrrrghhh me arties” and “Captain James is in charge” oh and everyone is a scallywag according to him. He is a huge Jake and the Neverland Pirates fan so I have a feeling a little bit of Captain Hook is rubbing off on him at the moment.
The bit the boys liked most from the kit is that they got to make treasure chests for their pirate treasure (included in the pack). Although the kit is aimed at children aged 5 and over James was easily able to do everything like his older brothers, he just needed a little extra help from me with the painting. He has since filled his yellow chest with all the gold.
Pirate Party is just one of the Craft Party range available from Interplay. The kit is priced around £24.99. It is recommended for children aged 5 years and over. I think the kit is a great idea for small parties and you can even buy more sets for larger parties and you could even mix and match sets so for example you could have a pirates and princesses party which would give you a party big enough for 12 children and allow for both a mixture of both boys and girls. The kits are definitely a cheaper alternative than paying out a small fortune in entertainers or other activities for a child’s party. The kits are also ideal for wet weather activities as they are a great way to keep the children entertained.
