Getting Ready to Go Back to School with My Three and Me

Shoes

Buying school shoes is one of the most important things to be considered when buying all those back to school essentials. Your child will be in their school uniform for roughly 7 – 8 hours a day – this may include a walk to and from school, will most definitely include playing in them at break times so you need to ensure that the shoes you buy them are of good quality, made to last and most importantly be comfy on their feet.

The boys are due back in school in just under a week (whose counting? – ohhh that would most definitely be me) I always leave buying their shoes until this last week so that their feet will have hopefully done with growing (for a little while at least).

Recently I was contacted by Shoe Zone and asked if the boys would like to try out some of the school shoes that they have to offer this year.

Callum is becoming very independent in the choices of clothes he wears – obviously he has no say about the school uniform that he has to wear everyday but I do allow him to choose his own school shoes and trainers (so longs they are what the school asks for). He chose the Beckett Sporty Shoes in Black.

These shoes are available in sizes 10 – 6 and priced at £14.99 a pair. Callum is a size 3 and wanted shoes that looked like trainers – I thought this would be impossible but I have to say the Becketts Sporty shoes look great and not as formal as most school shoes but they do look very smart when worn with black school trousers. Callum says they fit him well and are comfortable. He says that as they have tight fastening velcro and good grips on the bottom they won’t slip off  and he wont skid when hes playing football at school – only time will tell…

The shoes Nathan chose are very similar to the Beckett’s Sporty Shoes that Callum had chosen. They are also available in sizes 10 – 6 and priced at £14.99. Nathan is a size 12 and wanted shoes like Callum but we’ve done this before and there has always been a drama of lost shoes or even worse trying to put each others shoes on  (even with names on the inside) – so this year I put my foot down and said they had to have different shoes. In the end Nathan chose the Westwind Boys Shoes.

I chose James’ shoes for him. When looking at school shoes I always look for how practical they are. James has only just turned 5 and is still very much a walking mud magnet – if he can scuff his shoes he will. For this reason I thought James would be best with a pair of Trux Boys School Shoes.

These shoes are generous in size and James’ feet have plenty of room inside (he has quite wide feet). They look smart. James can’t wait to go back to school to show off his news shoes.
