Getting Christmas Party Ready
With Christmas not far away it’s time to start thinking about those Christmas party outfits. I don’t know about you but for most people its a time to let their hair down, eat, drink and be merry with their coworkers. It can be a task deciding what to wear especially if you want an effort without spending a small fortune – well I do anyway. This year Matthew will have a Christmas party and I am pretty certain that partners will be invited too. However should we not go there’s always Christmas day at the inlaws and New Year’s Eve at our friends – they throw the biggest and best parties every year. Should I be going to any of these events (we’ve been invited to all) this is the type of outfit I would wear.

A dress
I don’t often wear dresses so when I do buy them I try to buy something that can be worn again. I love this dress from Spartoo as it can be dressed up with jewellery, a bag and a pair of heels but also worn casually with flat shoes and a small cardigan.
Shoes
Heels are a must-have for me when going out. I’m not that short but there is almost a foot between me and the husband so if I want to dance (not that I can dance or do so often) with him then heels it is. When it’s colder I prefer closed-toe shoes instead of peep-toe shoes.
A bag
Every girl needs somewhere to keep her makeup, phone, money, tissues and house keys. I’d love to be able to go for a night out without a handbag but the truth is it can never happen as I just have too much stuff that I need.
Makeup and hair
Just like wearing a dress I don’t really wear makeup very often. When I do I prefer to keep to natural shades and wear very little. I am a fan of smokey eyes though and will often blend my eyeshadow if I can. My hair is so long that I usually wear it in a ponytail on special occasions I love to spend the time straightening it and wearing it down.
