Bounce Back From Your Pregnancy
There are going to be people reading this post at all different stages. You might be trying to get pregnant, you might have just found out you are, you might be near the end, or you might be a few weeks after. Whatever stage of your pregnancy you’re at, you might want to think about how you can get back to feeling like your old self again. Some women would say you will never feel like your old self again after having a baby. Your body may change in ways it never has before, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work on yourself and feel good again. We know that pregnancy can be so hard on your body but there are a few things you can do to get your body on the right track again. Keep on reading to find out more.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is something you’re either going to be all for or be a bit doubtful about. We will say that it is a personal preference and although some studies say breastfeeding is better, your baby is still going to get all it needs from formula milk.
There are, however, many benefits to breastfeeding. One of them is that it helps you shift pregnancy weight really quickly. Because your body is burning more energy, women report weight loss is far easier. There is also the positive that it creates an incredible bond between you and your child. It will also help you to feel far more comfortable.
There are, however, downsides to it as well. You will find that you are up more because breastfeeding makes it harder to keep a baby full. You do also have to think about expressing if you want your partner to be able to feed some of the time. There is also the risk that your baby just won’t take to breastfeeding, some of them find it hard to latch. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s the right option for you. One of the main ways of getting back to feeling like your old self is just to do what makes you more comfortable and happy. You can also check mominformed.com for more tips on breastfeeding.
Positive Routines
It’s definitely important to get a good routine going, both of you and your child. A good routine gives you and your baby structure and hopefully after a few weeks, or perhaps even months in some cases, you’ll be in a routine that works for you. The first routine you want to try and sort is your sleeping one. Without sleep you’re going to find it so hard to function and return back to your old self. Sleep allows you to recover, especially in the few weeks following your pregnancy when your body is at its weakest. Experts will say that you should sleep when your baby is, and that’s so important. Luckily your baby will sleep for many hours of the day. Breastfeeding you will find it to be harder because they will wake up more often. If you have a partner with you it’s wise to ask them to take over some of the tasks to allow you to sleep. There are other good routines you need, like when to clean up, when to go out, when to exercise. If you can set up some healthy routines it will just be so much easier for you to get back to feeling like your old self.
Health Alternatives
So you’re no doubt going to be thinking about your health right now. Before giving birth there is such an emphasis on making sure that you’re treating your body right. Avoiding caffeine and junk food, not drinking or smoking. Pregnancy literally makes you cut out every bad habit in the name of keeping your unborn child healthy. But why not carry that on after you’ve given birth? Cutting out alcohol and keeping to a healthy diet will give you far more energy, give your body the nutrients and vitamins it needs and help to regulate the functions of your body. If you wanted to think about supplements that aid this you could buy cbd gummies. It’s a way of trying cbd which seems to be the new craze at the minute. It’s completely safe, natural, and not a drug. It has so many health benefits that would be so beneficial to your recovery after giving birth. We understand if you wouldn’t like to try something like cbd until after giving birth. If you research the benefits of it, it will definitely become something you want to try.
You can also think about alternative diets, considering your diet is going to play such a big part in how you feel in terms of energy and mindset. On the whole, the general public are not the best at maintaining a good diet. One diet you might like to try is a relaxed paleo diet. We say relaxed because we know it’s rather hard to stick to a diet full time, and everyone deserves a treat every now and then. The paleo diet cuts out all non-organic foods, so all the processed stuff you know doubt know and love. It’s such a clean way of eating and the meals you can make are still so tasty, remember, it’s a relaxed paleo diet. It basically consists of foods that cavemen would have been able to collect.
Light Exercise
Light exercise is definitely one that you need to try. It’s one of the easiest ways to lose some pregnancy weight and to get you feeling more energised and better about yourself. If you hate running or any form of cardio you might like to try yoga. It’s easy to do and easy to learn, there are plenty of tutorials to be found online. It might be easier if you go to mother and baby fitness classes. They’re actually so much more popular than you’d think. Baby aqua aerobics is a particularly popular class. It might even just benefit you to go back into the gym. Perhaps you used to be one to go and lift weights all of the time, why not think about getting back into that! If you prefer to exercise at home you might look at downloading an app, this will fit in with your daily routine without leaving the house, an app such as the RWL fitness app has many types of work outs to help achieve your fitness goals including weight loss, toning up and post partum exercise plans.
Classes
Keeping along the line of health and fitness, it’s easy to get back to your old self and feeling like you’re socialising and active by going to classes. This could be any of the many fitness classes we’ve mentioned, or even just personal training. Sometimes it’s good to have a hobby away from being a mom so you have some time to yourself. It’s also a great way to meet new people. We know that some mums can report feeling isolated and alone after giving birth, especially if they’re the only one out of the friendship group to have a baby. It can be so much harder to get out and socialise like you used to be able to do, but we can’t express the importance of it enough. You need to be able to have friends to talk to and give you that other side of life so you’re not just a mum.
Family Fun
What better to make you feel like yourself than to have fun, and who better to have it with than your family. The world opened back up again for a while and it seems as though new restrictions might be coming. So, why not get booking some days out to do whilst you can. You’ll often find that some days out are discounted and kids will be able to go free. With the kids back to school it’s a great time to bring some fun.
