Wordsearch Junior Review and Competition
Recently we were asked to join Drumond Park’s Reviewers Panel. As a member of the panel each month the boys will be sent a game to review. We will also be running a competition each month for one copy of the same game.
For our first review we were sent Wordsearch Junior.

Wordsearch Junior can be played with 1 to 4 players and is suitable for aged 4 years and over. The aim of the game is to find the most words or pictures and cover them with your coloured chips. At the end of the game the player with the most coloured chips on the board wins.
Children of all ages can have hours of fun playing the game learning whilst they play. They will learn key skills in language, recognition and pattern. The nine double-sided puzzle disks have three different levels and cover a range of different topics. James’ favourite panels were the blue disks. At school he is just starting to learn about members of the family and animals. He is really struggling with his letters so I am hoping that by playing this game often we can work together to enable him to recognise letters easier. Nathan enjoyed playing the red disk game boards as he is really enjoys spelling and reading at school.
With the emphasis firmly on fun, the little ones can dive in straight away and search for images and patterns on the starter-level blue picture pattern cards. Here they will be developing those crucial early recognition and reasoning skills, such as sequencing and spatial awareness. The next – red – level takes players through the picture hint cards – finding words with picture hints to help them in their search. This prepares them for the green word-only cards, where they’ll be learning to look for consonant clusters and vowel combinations – increasing their reading skills without even realising it! Wordsearch Junior is a game that all 3 boys can play together and on their own. The blue disks are ideal for James to play with, the red Nathan and the green for Callum.
Wordsearch Junior motivates children to build on their language, recognition, pattern and reasoning skills while improving their vocabulary through the use of images, letters and words. Game play is quite quick too so there is no chance of them getting bored.
