When Big Farm Means Big Fun

I was very lucky to live in a little village in North Yorkshire when I was growing up, it was and still is surrounded by farms. I have fond memories of walking to the beach each summer with my parents and having to pass through two farmyards to get there. We used to look for the animals in the fields and count them as we passed – something the boys and I do whenever we go back to the coast to see our family.When we were really small my brother, sister and I had a fantastic toy farm. I think it was passed on to my smaller brother but I can’t remember. All I know is that we loved it. We pretended to be just like the farmers we knew from around the village, it had a barn, a red tractor and lots of different animals. So when we were sent 3 Big Farm toys last month I couldn’t wait to show the boys.

I think I love the Big Farm Land Rover Defender toy more than the boys do, although James loves it too. As a child growing up my dad owned a Land Rover and I loved it. We went all over the place in it and we never got stuck in the snow or mud (there were a few times) for long. The toy is very realistic, it has great detail on it ( look at the Defender Badge on the bonnet and the Land Rover badge on the front grill) everything is perfect even down to the spare tyre in the back. It has very realistic lights and sounds – it requires 3 x AAA batteries (these are included), a removable canopy (just like real Land Rovers).  The Land Rover is priced at £22.99.

There are many different toys that make up the Big Farm. One of these toys is the Big Farm Cattle Trailer. The trailer comes with a cow and her calf. The trailer is compatible with the Land Rover and with most of the tractors in the Big Farm range. The rear gates of the trailer open up and out to the sides so children can play with the cattle and can make them walk up and down the ramp. The trailer is priced at £20.99.

Another toy that belongs to the Big Farm Range is the JCB 550-80 loadall. Like the other toys, it is extremely realistic. It has a working steering wheel, an extending loader arm which raises and lowers and a removable bucket that tilts forward and back.  The loadall comes complete with interchangeable pallet forks too. This toy is priced at £34.99.

All 3 toys are aimed at children aged 3 yrs – 8 yrs so perfect for all 3 of my boys to play with together. Each toy is compatible with all Big Farm toys and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor play – so perfect for the lovely weather we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy recently.
