Finding childcare is no easy task and many parents struggle to find childcare that suits their needs. We have been very lucky as I was able to stay at home whilst the children were small Matthew went to work and now I work from home meaning I can plan my work and my working week around the boys being at school. But many of my friends aren’t as lucky as us and have had trouble in the past trying to find the right childcare for them and their children. Often, they have had to change providers when they’ve realised that they haven’t been able to meet their needs which causes a lot of stress, upset and change for both parent and child.
If you’re looking for childcare provisions for your children, it is worth asking your friends and family to see if they have any recommendations. If you’re not able to find this out from someone close you could use a website like Childcare.co.uk which is designed to help make finding the perfect childcare setting as easy as possible for you.
Childcare.co.uk is an online community. It is free to sign up and is made up of parents, childcare providers, household helpers, schools and private tutors. Over 2 million people have used the platform since they launched in 2009. You can access Chilcare.co.uk online and on both Apple and Android devices.
Childcare.co.uk is a helpful, easy to navigate and user-friendly website. Users can search for childcare providers such as babysitters, registered childminders, nannies, private tutors and nurseries. Once you are signed up (membership is free) you can read reviews from other parents and message potential providers.
When I looked at childcare providers in my local area using the website, I found 196 childcare providers within 5 miles of my postcode. On first looks, this is great as there is so many available. From these 196 I was able to narrow them down further by using filters. This is perfect for those of you that need specific requirements from your childcare providers. For example, if you need to find a setting that accepts a child that is entitled to free nursery funding or if you need childcare before and after school. Each provider is shown with a picture, a small description of them and the services they can provide for you and your child.
I would recommend using the website. It is easy to use, easy to navigate around and lets you see all the childcare providers in your local area. Once you have narrowed your search down you can then look closer to see who is right for both you and your child.
