“Twenty one years ago, the world’s first organic chocolate bar was launched by Green & Black’s Organic – a high quality, dark, bittersweet chocolate bar, packed with 70% cocoa solids. Founded by husband and wife team Craig Sams and Jo Fairley, Green & Black’s Organic was born in their small bedroom on Portobello Road in 1991. In 1994 Maya Gold was added to the portfolio and earned the brand the UK’s first Fairtrade mark for a chocolate product. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength and the brand continues to live by the ethics introduced by Craig and Jo. With 19 varieties in the portfolio Green & Black’s Organic is committed to creating great tasting, innovative and ethically sourced chocolate”.
