Discover Your Sleep Animal
Many of us have probably heard of terms like ‘early bird’ or ‘night owl,’ but did you know there are four main types of sleep animals that most of us can relate to? So, what’s your style – bear, lion, dolphin, or wolf?
Each of these adorable animals corresponds to a specific sleep chronotype, reflecting how we naturally snooze. Our internal body clock, our circadian rhythm, is unique to each of us, which means we’re more alert or drowsy at different times of the day.
Dolphins are the light sleepers among us, occasionally grappling with insomnia. Lions, on the other hand, are the early risers who wake up bursting with energy, yet they might feel sleepy earlier in the evening. Bears follow the gentle rhythm of sunrise and sunset, needing a solid eight hours of rest, while wolves find it a challenge to get out of bed early and thrive in their element during the nighttime.
According to Simba, discovering your chronotype isn’t just fascinating; it can be a game-changer for your productivity. Plus, it can guide you in making informed choices about when to eat, sleep, work, exercise, or enjoy that cup of coffee or evening drink.

I took the quiz myself, and the results said that I was a dolphin. Although I had no idea this was an actual thing, the results are pretty accurate for my sleep patterns.
Although I don’t have a weighted blanket at the moment, this is certainly something I want to think about in the future, especially if it will help me sleep better. I do struggle to sleep and find that most of the time I am too hot or too cold. Especially in the summer, I find myself covering and uncovering myself, tossing and turning all night. This has changed slightly thanks to swapping my normal 13.5 tog duvet for a Hybrid Duvet. This duvet is perfect for those like myself who get hotter or colder at night. All Simba Hybrid® duvets feature Stratos® technology on one side; this makes the fabric feel instantly cool to the touch, as well as enabling it to react to body temperature, dissipating any excess heat to keep you cool and dry. For optimum temperature control, you should make sure that this side is closest to your body when you sleep. Since swapping, I’ve slept better at night. I will keep you updated if anything changes.
