I know it’s a little while off yet but if you’re an avid planner then your mind might have already turned to thoughts of buying Christmas presents for your children. There is nothing wrong with a bit of forward thinking and it often means you can buy your child the present they want as you can order it in plenty of time.
If you are considering buying an electric ride on toy this year you might want to consider one of the following. Remember to make sure you choose a ride on toy that is suitable for your child’s age, weight, height and their competence levels.
A bike
When my boys were little they each had a battery powered ride on toy. James had a police bike and he absolutely loved it, nowadays you can choose from many different designs. Bikes like this are suitable for children aged 3 – 5 and who weigh no more than 20kg.
If your child is older you may be looking at a bike that is more powerful and designed to be ridden off road such as a petrol powered pit bike. If this is the case you should ensure that your child is a competent rider and has the appropriate safety equipment. A bike of this type is suitable for children aged 6 – 12 years and a maximum weight of 80kg.
A car
If you’re looking to buy your little one a ride on electric car you can be sure they would be driving around in style in a mini Audi, BMW or even their own Lamborghini. These cars come with a mp3 player, bluetooth remote and have a seat belt fitted. They are suitable for children aged 3 – 5 years old.
A quad
If you are looking at quad bikes for your child you need to make sure you choose a quad that is perfect for them and their riding skills. If your child is aged 3 – 5 a battery operated quad would be better suited for them. If your child is older and has already been riding quads and is pretty capable of riding at speed you can buy them a 55cc or even a 125cc petrol powered quad. These bigger, more powerful vehicles are aimed at and most suited to older and bigger children who already have experience with riding a quad.
