Our #NickJrCraftmas‏ Party….

If you joined us over on Twitter on Monday 1st December you may have noticed that we took part in the #NickJrCraftmas‏ with other bloggers, UKMums.tv and Nick Jr. We had an absolute ball and both the boys and their guests R and B had lots of fun making all their Christmas themed crafts.

You may remember that a few days ago I wrote a post telling you about all the great things we were sent in order to have our party. There was a pack of craft materials and lots of activity packs including ones where we could all make some yummy Christmas treats.

Before R and B arrived we made up our gift bags. We added all the gifts that our guests would be taking home with them and we made some cute Snowman and Santa chocolate bars for them too. To make a decorated bar of your own is very simple. Take a bar of your favourite chocolate (still in it’s wrapper) wrap it in red, white paper or tin foil then decorate with ribbon and felt pens for the little details. A simple, cheap but very cute present.

The first activity that our guests wanted to do was make Snowman cakes.. This was a very messy, but very yummy task and they all certainly had fun with the butter icing and marshmallows.

James and R made their own elves hats like Ben Elf’s hat from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. I think they both make very cute little elves.

The next activity we carried out was making a Christmas Cracker each. We were sent all the bits we needed from jokes, paper hats, sweets and stickers to the snapper that sits inside and goes bang when the cracker is pulled. I think these will look beautiful on our tree.

Once we had made our crackers we played some party games, We played Pin the Red Nose on Rudolph and Can You Build a Snowman, Both games proved to be lots of fun, and they were really quick games to play so even the little people who don’t like to spend too long doing one thing will enjoy playing them. Can You Build a Snowman can be played with a toilet roll or two, a couple of hats and scarves and Pin the Red Nose on Rudolph can be played with a reindeer template and red tissue paper. Two very cheap and easy games to keep the little ones entertained.

We decided that our next task would be to make some Chocolate Christmas Puddings (I will share the recipe with you all next week). The children prepared the ingredients whilst I melted the two different types of chocolate. These are so simple to make and would even be the perfect dessert on Christmas Day for those who don’t like a traditional pudding.

Whilst our Chocolate Christmas Puddings were hardening in the fridge we made Christmas cards using wooden lollipop sticks, pictures of our favourite Nick jr characters and pompoms. We also made beautiful baubles to hang on our trees (ours is going up tonight and I can’t wait to hang the boy’s baubles up) and we even had time to make some paper chains.

All too soon our party was over. Before R and B left we gave them their goodie bags packed full of sweets and treats, the things they had made and of course their Chocolate Christmas Puddings.
