New Shoes For Summer

I have been looking for the perfect summer shoes for a while. There is so much choice about which isn’t a bad thing but when you are on a tight budget (and you can’t afford to buy shoes for every outfit you own / days of the week) you want something that can be worn over again and with different items and more importantly that they are going to last. Recently I was asked to choose a pair of shoes from Shoe Zone’s spring / summer collection. There is a huge range of shoes to choose from and I was stuck between two pairs but in the end I decided to I choose a pair of Lilley black strappy sandals.

The main reason I chose these shoes is because I thought they looked comfy and they looked nice. I love the metal slides and studs detail to the over toe straps and they are a bargain at £9.99 (previously priced at £12.99). I love that they look great with my skinny jeans, cropped jeans and shorts – which I live in between the months of April and September. I have had compliments from the mums at school about my new footwear and they were shocked when I told them that they were available from Shoe Zone and at such a great price. I have a feeling I won’t be the only mum with these shoes for long.

I have to confess that I do have numerous pairs of shoes at home (it’s a woman’s right, isn’t it?) I have a couple of pairs of ballet pumps, flip flops, trainers and heels but no actual sandals. I wanted a pair of shoes that were comfy and a pair that I could wear both during the day and at night. As the shoes have detail on them they can dress any outfit up.

Comfort is one thing I take very seriously with shoes. I love shoes but they have to be comfy. I am no longer a spring chicken in her youth trying to look impressive walking in heels and over the years I have had many a day / night out in lovely looking shoes only to come to home to aching feet and blisters. I learnt the hard way last year when we went to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Having been on my feet for 8 hours on the hottest day of the year my feet look like balloons by the time we had got home. It took days for the blisters to go away – I will not make that mistake again in a hurry.

The Lilley sandals can be worn with pretty much anything and are comfy to wear, so they would be the perfect holiday shoe to buy as they would fit in a suitcase without taking up loads of space (we all know how much stuff us girls need to fit within our travel allowance) and as they are versatile they can be worn for different occasions.

Although it is a very miserable day today I am hoping the sun will return soon so that I can make the most of it and wear my lovely new shoes.
