Decking The Halls & The Rest Of The House….
We have just started to decorate our house for the festive season. It is one of my favourite tasks over the whole festive period. The boys help build the tree and they try to help with the placing of the tinsel and lights. They are somewhat little experts at arranging the baubles and other decorations and by the time we have all worked together and have finished our house is something that resembles Santa’s Grotto.
If you are looking for some decorations this year take a look at the selection below to give you some ideas:
The first thing I like to decorate is my window sill / windows. I love to put up the lights in the window as it’s one of the things I loved seeing when I was younger when travelling to and from my grandparents houses I would stay awake on the journey home just to see all the pretty lights in everyones windows. A Traditional Christmas Bridge Light looks beautiful when lit up on a window sill in the dark or as the centre piece on a mantelpiece. Priced at £9.99, this is a much safer way of having candles on display and if I’m honest I think they look just as good as the real thing.
Wilkos also have other decorations to complement their themes. I love this red reindeer. It looks stunning on its own or it would look lovely with another one. It is priced at £4 so a cheap yet sophisticated, elegant looking decoration. They also have this cute little stocking in store and online. It is perfect to place those small yet expensive presents under the tree.
If you like a personalised touch to your decorations Getting Personal have baubles available this year that you can customise. They make the perfect keepsake or a gift to someone special and they look beautiful hung on a tree. They have baubles that can be personalised for any occasion such as baby’s first Christmas or a couples first Christmas as man and wife. You can personalise your bauble for a grandparent, godparent, child, parent, aunty, teacher the list is very extensive, prices start from £9.99 a bauble. I love the bauble that we were sent. I had it personalised for the boys with “Merry Christmas Callum, Nathan and James” on the front and on the back it says ” Merry Christmas 2014 love Mummy and Daddy x” I really, really love it and it will a keepsake forever.
Although not technically a decoration (although you could use it as one if you filled it up with cushion stuffing or similar) Getting Personal also sell an array of sacks, some can be personalised others not. I love these Hessian sacks priced at £2.99 each. They are perfect for putting stocking fillers in under the tree or a present at the end of your child’s bed to show that Santa has been.
