This Month We Are Loving….

blue fitness tracker

It’s been mentioned a few times that I am upping my fitness game and I think some of the hard work is finally starting to pay off. Although the scales and tape measure isn’t showing the signs yet my body is definitely starting to be able to work harder and better. I’ve been monitoring my fitness with a Four Fit Health Band.

The health band is compact, stylish and waterproof and available in a number of colours. It has a number of integrated sensors which means you can track the impact your workouts are having on your health.  You can use the health band to track your heart rate,  blood oxygen and blood pressure and many other aspects of your lifestyle and exercise routines too including your step targets, distance and sleep. Please note that this device is not medically certified, and like all fitness trackers on the market it will only provide a good estimate, but values can be wrong, if you are concerned by any of the readings make sure you make an appointment to see your doctor.

It’s Features Include:

  • Sleep tracking and full sleep analysis
  • Calorie tracking
  • Step tracking
  • GPS distance tracking (via app)
  • Heart rate tracking
  • Phone link enabled
  • SMS alerts
  • Rapid charge and 4 day battery time
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Blood oxygen levels (Oximeter)
  • Stopwatch
  • Water resistant (in cold water only)
  • Fatigue analysis
Cooking and Baking

In December I am going to be sharing with you some of my favourite festive recipes. I’ve already ordered some of the ingredients, festive sprinkles and other decorations and I think that 2018 will be my favourite Christmas yet for home baking. I have had a few trial runs and I can tell you now that my gingerbread men and cupcakes are out of this world.

We have also been trying to eat healthier this month (even if we are eating lots of homemade cakes and biscuits too) but as the weather has started to turn we’ve been eating more stews, thick soups and roast dinners so it was a good job we were sent a new AnySharp Pro knife sharpener. I absolutely love it as it means I can now sharpen my kitchen knives whereas before I’d have to ask Matthew to do them for me. The device uses tungsten carbide technology to extend the life of almost any knife and works on virtually any knife, including hardened steel knives and those with serrated edges. AnySharp is pre-set at 20 degrees to give an optimum edge so your knives will be sharpened correctly. The AnySharp’s safety feature is its PowerGrip suction cup base, which attaches securely to any smooth surface or worktop without the need for any tools. Once it’s attached you can sharpen any knife safely hands-free. The AnySharp Pro is available to buy online from Amazon in a range of colours.

I love bathtime – it’s just a shame that I don’t get time to have one every day (we’re a shower in the morning type of family) but when I do get chance to have a soak I’m in the tub for hours. I like to read a book whilst relaxing in a mass of bubbles – my idea of the perfect night in. I’m all for anything that saves time, especially with half term coming up next week so I shave my legs whilst in the bath or shower and I’m really impressed with *Gillette’s Venus & Olay razors. You don’t need to use shaving gel or foam just make sure your skin is wet before you start shaving. Each razor has 5 blades and gently exfoliates surface skin whilst the built-in flexible shave gel bars with added Olay moisturiser, help to lock in skin’s moisture – so theirs no need to moisturise after either unless of course, you want to. After my bath and before going to bed I’ve been using the new Sudocrem Skin Recovery Cream. I think my skin is feeling much smoother which is perfect now the weather is turning much harsher (it always dries my skin out when the season change).  If applied in the evening before bed it can help to soothe and restore skin and can also help treat break-outs and spots.

James just like his mummy loves his bath time and although he may think he’s quite grown up at the grand old age of 9 he still loves his bubbles and bath toys too. We are big fans of Johnsons Baby Bathtime products as they really do make a difference to how he sleeps. After his bath, he is all relaxed and ready to go to sleep whereas on the nights when he doesn’t have a bath he takes a lot longer to settle. Whilst in the bath James has been playing with a Rainy Day Fun Set and Rock Pool Squirters – these both keep him entertained for ages. They are perfect for children of all ages to play within the bath.

My Three love Halloween and are looking forward to trick or treating and also handing out sweets to all the little ghouls and ghosts who will be paying us a visit too. This year we have bought a massive plastic light up pumpkin – yes I know we cheated but I hate the idea of food waste as none of us eats pumpkin and it will be used year after year. We also bought a skeleton sweet bowl that is motion activated – it is going to scare anyone who dips their hands in… If you’re looking for sweets to give your visitors then there are plenty available this year including:

This month My Three have been enjoying Bahlsen Zoo Imagination biscuits. The biscuits are made using corn and teff flour and are certified by the Crossed Grain symbol – reassuring parents that these are safe for all the family eat. I’ve also been enjoying their Crunchy Mint and Crunchy Hazelnut Choco Moments – they are perfect with a cup of tea.
