Most of us like to personalise our homes as much as possible. So, we are always looking for unique artwork to put on the walls.
If you are ready to change things up a bit and are wondering how to do so without completely redecorating, all you need to do is to read on. Below, I share with you six easy ways to update your walls.
Order a few new canvas prints
This first option is probably the easiest. Taking your favourite photos and having them turned into beautiful prints by a firm like Hello Canvas only takes a few minutes. It really is a fantastic way to create unique artwork for your home.
Also, these prints make excellent presents for friends and family. Especially for grandparents, who usually love having their favourite photos of the children to put up somewhere in their home.
Decals and wall stickers
If you are planning to update your child´s room, consider using wall stickers. There are some really great ones available, everything from fairy tale characters to animals and cars.
To apply them, all you need to do is to wipe the wall down and follow the application instructions. Typically, it takes two people about 30 minutes to do the job. The fact that they are available in a range of sizes means you can potentially re-decorate an entire wall in less than an hour.
Stencilling is another fast and easy way to update a room. You can design your own stencils, download other people´s designs and print them off or just order some pre-printed one. Once you have them, it does not take long to transform all of the walls in a room.
Get clever with photos
If you are one of those people who is always snapping away photo-based artwork is a great idea for you. There are loads of ways for you to use your snaps to decorate your walls. Anyone that is good at crafts can easily create beautiful works of art for their home. Embroidered panels look especially nice. Using kits, they are relatively easy to create provided you have the patience and time to do them.
You can buy all kinds of arts and crafts kits and use them to create beautiful wall hangings. Most are fun to do and not particularly difficult.
Putting up some shallow shelves that are arranged in an interesting pattern and filling them with themed ornaments is an idea that works well in most homes. The nice thing about this approach is that you can easily change the way it looks. All you need to do is to buy some new ornaments and curiosities or paint the ones that you already own a different colour.
