Ways To Kickstart Your Real Estate Career
When I was little I wanted to be a real estate agent, I’m not sure where this came from but I think it was probably around the time we sold our family home after my little brother was born – we needed a bigger house long before he arrived but we always made do but his arrival was the catalyst my parents needed though to sell.
Fast forward a lot of years, I’m not working in the industry and never have as my life took a different turn. That said I wouldn’t rule it out in the future as when I dipped my toe in it was a lot of fun. If you are thinking about a change in career there are a few things you could think about doing to ensure you get the job of your dreams these include:
Find a job
Now, this might seem like an obvious start but find a job, but don’t be put off it seems hard to find something at first. Look in the local paper, on the internet and even make the effort to go to your local estate offices and ask if they have any vacancies available. You might have to work part-time to start with and even just on a weekend if they only have a small opening. Don’t be put off by this though it is often a great place to start and you can quickly work your way up.
Work experience
In high school, we were given the chance to take part in work experience. This was a two-week placement in a work setting of our choice. We had to find a placement, write a letter to the manager, attend an interview and in the summer we got the chance to spend two weeks doing the job. I really enjoyed it and at the time I thought that it was definitely the career path for me.
If you are young why not do as I did and get some work experience under your belt. This could be organised via your school or college if you have a careers department if not you could ask to volunteer a couple of hours on a weekend or in the school holidays. This way you could learn the trade whilst still studying.

Gain a qualification
If you are already in the real estate business, want to further your education or start out on your journey to becoming a real estate agent you could complete a real estate education course from AstroFlipping. A course in real estate education would help you to brush up on your selling skills and help to secure anything you weren’t familiar with from in the sector. It would also give you an advantage over others in the sector who don’t have this type of qualification.
