It only seems like a few weeks ago that we were booking our trip to New York and saying how far away it seemed. But now we are just 10 weeks away from departure. It would seem that time really is flying and I know I say it often but that’s because it’s true but this year it seems to be flying by doubly fast (and it’s quite scary) or is it a magical thing that happens to time when you are planning something utterly amazing?
Things I’ve managed to sort so far include:
Finding the perfect occasion shoes for my wedding was probably almost as hard as finding my wedding dress. I love shoes more than I love most things in life and if I had unlimited funds I would have a walk-in wardrobe full of beautiful shoes. I know I’m not alone in trying to find wedding shoes though as many of my married friends agree it is so hard as there’s just so much choice out there it can be both daunting and time-consuming. But I have THE perfect pair now and I can’t wait to show everyone them with the rest of my outfit on my big day.
Along with my shoes, I have found the perfect tights to wear on my big day. I’m not a huge fan of wearing tights but I think they are a must to stop my feet from getting blisters – the last thing I want or need in New York is sore feet. The tights I have chosen are a natural skin tone in colour and are toeless – If you have never bought toeless tights you are missing out on all those beautiful but slightly painful peep toe shoes you could be wearing.
For the last year and a half, I have been growing my long hair, longer. I’ve had nothing but trims and recently some highlights added to ensure that my hair is beautiful and long for the big day. Just before we go away I will be having new layers and a few more highlights added. Recently I was sent a Big Day Prep kit and I will certainly be making use of it in the coming weeks. The kit contains all the essentials a bride to be needs on her big day, including Coconut Breeze Elasticizer, de-tangler Daily Damage Defence and Body Building Shampoo and Conditioner.
I’m pleased to say that we are almost ready for our day there are a few things we still need to buy but we are sorting those in May and June. Matthew needs a new shirt and shoes and I need new makeup, my hair cut and coloured and some flowers but I think we are going to buy those in New York. We also need to sort the official paperwork out for our wedding licence but we can’t do that until June.
I think this is the most organised I have been in my life for anything and yet it doesn’t seem like I’ve done that much yet… I just hope I don’t forget anything…
