Although summer is pretty much over and Autumn is most definitely on the way, we have been told that a late burst of sunshine could make an appearance mid-September. If this is the case, we’ll hopefully get a week or so of nice weather before the darker nights and colder days start to draw in. For me, it means I will probably see the bottom of the washing basket for the last time (well until next spring) and for Matthew, it means the last few times he gets to wear shorts well until we book a last minute holiday that is. It’s been so long since we had a holiday we’re unsure where to start but we quite fancy a few days in Gran Canaria or possibly one of the Balearic Islands. One thing is for sure though with New York hopefully on the cards for next year wherever we go it has to be cheap and cheerful.
Tshirts – Matthew is 6 foot 4 inches tall, almost a foot taller than I am and shopping for him is a real pain both for him and me. For a long time, he has struggled to find t-shirts that fit well as he has a really long torso. Normally to compensate for this he has to buy t-shirts in the XXL and XXXL’s sizes -but as he isn’t particularly big built they end looking really baggy on him. He recently discovered Jacamo and was surprised by the number of clothes they had to offer. Not only do they have lots of jeans in a longer length he was also surprised by the number of t-shirts that were available in longer lengths. He was very surprised to find this Lambretta t-shirt in an XL but it was also available in one of two lengths too, there are more styles here too.
Shorts – A staple for any suitcase, Matthew chose these shorts as they’re perfect for both home and work. They are made from a light material and would be comfortable to wear both for leisure and work, as his job involves a lot of driving he likes to ensure whatever he is wearing for work is comfortable but smart in appearance.
Trainers – They say a woman can never have too many pairs of shoes but I think the same can definitely be said for men and their trainers. Matthew must have at least five pairs of trainers already. These Adidas trainers are casual so perfect for going on holiday and for everyday wear. They are really lightweight compared to normal trainers but still give a certain amount of support and they look great with both shorts and jeans so are perfect for wear all year round.
Are you planning a quick getaway soon?
