My Three are on the countdown to the summer holidays and I think they, like myself, will be so glad of the rest. We’ve been so busy it has been unreal. We’ve had sports days, transition days, world cup days, balloon car making, school trips and end of year productions. We can’t wait for sleepovers, movie nights, a trip to see my parents over on the coast and a long visit from the boys older brother who lives in Ireland. He is going to be staying with us for 5 weeks and we have lots of fun things planned.
In the meantime, we have been having fun with some new toys and we can highly recommend the following if you’re looking for things to keep the kids entertained before, during and after the holidays.
My Three have always loved to build things out of Lego. They have massive boxes full of pieces and numerous sets that have been built and dismantled more times than I care to remember. If like my boys, your children love to build whatever comes into their imagination too they will love Strictly Briks. All of Strictly Briks items are compatible with all major brands, including LEGO, Mega Bloks, & K’NEX brand sets but they’re not affiliated with or endorsed by these brands. There are lots of different Strictly Briks available including a baseplate set that contains 12 6″ x 6″ stackable plates (white, clear, grey, black, brown, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and pink) and 80 different coloured 2″ x 2″ stackers (£24.99).
My nieces are huge fans of anything that has unicorns on it at the minute they have been loving the My Unicorn Garden set. Plant a home for the white unicorn and fairy friend and help them make a wish in the wishing well! The My Unicorn Garden is fantastic for getting children interested in looking after and nurturing plants. This set has a £ 19.99rrp. They have also been loving the Unicorn Charm Jewellery set (£9.99rrp). The set is full of enough beautiful charms and beads to create over 10 pieces of ‘Unicorn’ inspired jewellery. The pieces are made from high-quality metal, enamel charms and beads.
Last year Fingerlings were the must-have toys of the year, hot on their heels comes the new Untamed Raptors (rrp £16.99 each). These lifelike creatures are fierce and unpredictable but whether they are a friend or foe – that’s up to you. Unleash their ferocious side with a shake or poke, and they’ll roar, hiss, and chomp. Or, tame your beasts by petting their noses, and they’ll hum coo and purr. There are four different Untamed Raptors each with its own unique name and personality: Stealth, Blaze, Fury, and Razor. Complete with snapping jaws and gripping claws, these interactive creatures react to touch, motion, and sound with over 40 different sounds and animations.
Another toy my nieces have been loving is a Sweet Pup. Sweet Pups (£7.99) are a new range of toys that have just been launched. Each Sweet Pup transforms from a delicious-looking pretend pastries into cuddly, gorgeous plush puppies by turning them inside out. There are 12 cute, soft, plush puppy breeds to collect in series one. Each pup looks like a delicious pastry including croissants, macaroons and sticky buns on the outside. Open the pastry package to reveal the wonderful scented aroma of the pastry and find the wonderful surprise hidden inside!
The weather has been absolutely glorious this month and we have been spending much of our time in the garden. Whilst there we have been looking at all the lovely bugs, birds and bees that visit our garden often. If your little ones like nature as much as My Three do they’ll love some of the great Nick Baker’s My Living World Nature Study kits that are available. They are a great way to investigate nature’s creatures up close. Nick Baker is the vice president for the Wildlife Trusts and he has worked closely with Interplay to create the My Living World sets (£12.99 rrp each). Kits include Ant World, Worm World and Bug Safari. For those who don’t like getting up close and personal with the creepy crawlies why not get them a Pocket Microscope which is small enough to fit in your pocket, but has 30 x magnification it’s powerful enough to make an ant look the size of an antelope!
Get the latest festival look with the new FabLab Festival Face Tattoos set (rrp£12.99). The set contains over 12 gorgeous temporary tattoo designs especially formulated to be easy to apply and easy to remove with the tattoo removal oil provided. Also includes glitter tattoos to add sparkle and to customise your look! Great fun to do and perfect for festivals, parties and sleepovers! Contains no harmful chemicals. If tattoos aren’t your thing why not try the FabLab Designer Tie Dye set (rrp£9.99) You can create cool fashionable items by adding vibrant and trendy colours to clothes and accessories with Interplay’s Designer Tie Dye Kit. We have also been loving playing Molkky whilst the weather has been nice and Gross Science which we featured in our Favourite STEM Toys. I’ve also had lots of fun with my adorable little friend A and her Baby Born Interactive Boy, you’ll be able to read my full review of this toy very soon.
