Are you planning to take the family away for the weekend? or perhaps you’re going away with your other half or for a weekend with the girls. Next year is Matthew’s 40th birthday. We are hoping to be in New York for the big day but if that doesn’t happen London will certainly be a place I consider taking him for a fun weekend away.
Whatever your reason for visiting our lovely capital city there are a few things you should consider so that your trip is as stressfree as possible.
How are you going to get to London? Most people own a car and would be prepared to travel to London in theirs but is it really the way you want to travel? Although this is usually seen as the easiest way to travel there are things that may make it the journey from hell. Imagine getting stuck on the motorway? or if you’re planning on having a boozy weekend not being able to drink or keep an eye on your alcohol intake – both would put a real downer on your weekend away, also don’t forget parking charges and the congestion charge in certain parts of the city. Sometimes you can get really cheap rail tickets especially if you book in advance, so it’s always worth a look at whats on offer – you may just get a right bargain and you’d be able to enjoy your journey from start to finish.
London has a whole host of different types of accommodation to offer including a whole host of hotels, there’s something to cater for everyone’s budgets. Hotels can be booked within reasonably short notice but you may find a better deal looking at comparison sites or by booking in advance. If you’re planning a once in a lifetime trip to London, why not treat your party to a stay in a luxury serviced apartment. Apartments vary in style but they offer the same great quality and will ensure that your stay is a memorable one for all the right reasons.
Things To Do
There is so much to see and do in London that just one weekend is often not enough. Make sure you spend your time wisely and see and do the things you really want to. Not so long ago I wrote a post about things to do with your family when visiting London, it contained lots of great places to visit. If it’s just you and your partner or you’re away with the girls London has a great nightlife and is the perfect place to let your hair down. My plans for when we visit would include meals out, a show in the west end and seeing the sights of Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square among others.
Are you planning a trip to London soon? If so, where are you planning to stay and visit?
