This year is really flying by, isn’t it? I can hardly believe that in just over a week’s time we will be celebrating Easter. It is going to be a really busy time for us but we are all looking forward to it. Not only do we get to enjoy lots of chocolate and family days out it’s also Callum’s birthday on Easter Sunday and the boy’s brother is coming to stay with us for the holidays. We have lots of exciting things planned including a visit to the seaside so long as the weather is nice.
One thing James and I love to do during the school holidays is to bake cakes and buns. We are planning at least one day of baking and can’t wait to get busy in the kitchen. This week we have also been baking as there was a bake sale at school. All parents were asked to contribute so we made a batch of Easter Nests, Sweetie Cupcakes and a beautiful chocolate Easter Egg Cake thanks to Green’s who sent us some samples, which came at just the right time.
We had a fun evening using the kit to bake our cake. The end result wasn’t a perfect cake, but you know what for a cake made in a rush and with the help/ being decorated by an 8-year-old, I don’t think it’s bad at all, do you? and what’s more, it tasted great.
Green’s have recently launched a new baking mix that is sure to be a hit wih cake and chocolate lovers everywhere. The new Chocolate Egg Cake Kit is designed to be a quick and easy chocolate fix. The cake mix is a versatile and indulgent product that is fun and easy to bake; all you need to do is add two medium size eggs to create the cake, and then mix 125g of butter and water to the frosting mix to create a smooth and chocolatey finish. I love that there is no fuss and mess as all the ingredients are measured and ready-mixed to use.
To celebrate the launch of the new product, Green’s is running a competition on its social media channels, in search of the UK’s best bakers. Entrants across the country will be asked to submit a photo of their best Easter bake using the hashtag, #GreensEasterBakes. Three lucky entrants will win a hamper of Green’s goodies, including the new Chocolate Egg Cake Kit. The competition will run from 10 am 19th March until midnight on 1st April 2018, so you’ve plenty of time to get your entries in.
Green’s continues to inspire bakers of all ages from around the world to bake divine cakes, scrumptious desserts and savoury delights. Made with care at its facility in Yorkshire, Green’s easy-to-use mixes guarantee baking perfection every time and ensure fun for friends and family. Each and every mix has been created from natural ingredients and no artificial colourings.
