Simple Ways to Keep A Small Kitchen Tidy

We have a reasonable size kitchen – I personally think it’s on the small side but all my family and friends always say we are lucky to have so much space and I don’t know about you but I have so many items and utensils in my kitchen that I don’t have enough space for it all. The thing is I need them all! – maybe not all at once or every day but everything I have is useful and gets used as and when needed. I love to bake but with it comes all the cutters, rollers, knives, measuring spoons etc and they take up a lot of room. Add those items to all of the everyday utensils I use on a regular basis then my drawers become a cluttered mess fast. When trying to find what I need it can be a task and no matter how neat and tidy everything is put away it soon gets messed up again.

Here is what my kitchen looked like before and after it’s decluttering:

To help with making our kitchen a clutter-free zone Joseph Joseph sent us three of their best selling items.

We were sent:

  • Compact cutlery organiser – £12 – Ideal for keeping your cutlery drawer in order. It saves space with its angled and layered compartments on top of each other – you can store a full cutlery set in less than half the space. I love that the organiser has little icons on each of the compartments so you know which cutlery items go in which sections. Your cutlery can sit either way up in their designated compartment – whichever you prefer.
  • 5-piece utensil set with holder – £25 – This set includes five essential kitchen utensils that are neatly stacked together. They come with a storage stand that can be kept in a kitchen drawer or mounted to the wall. The set includes a Slotted Spatula, Spaghetti Server, Slotted Spoon, Solid Spoon, Ladle and Storage stand. All utensils are heat resistant up to 200°C and dishwasher safe.
  • Kitchen worktop organiser – £40 – If you have little worktop space or just want to make the most of the space you have, this kitchen organiser is a lifesaver. It allows you to store knives, gadgets and utensils all in one place. Included is a chopping board that stores neatly at the back out of the way. It has separate compartments for each tool type and includes a knife store with non-scratch slots that grip blades safely and securely.  The organiser is available in two colours white or silver so will suit any kitchen decor.

How do you keep clutter in the kitchen to a minimum?

I really like the idea of these. I hate a cluttered kitchen and making the most worktop space as possible is always welcome.

I agree, it’s not until you see the after pictures how you realise how much space is being used by clutter x
