It might be snowing outside and looking rather wintery thanks to the “Beast from the East” but Spring really is only a few weeks away – I promise. With that said in the next few weeks, I will be having a spring clean and plan I am planning to declutter the whole house, anything that we’ve not used in the last 6 months is going – the contents of my drawers and wardrobe included.
I admit I am a little bit of a hoarder and as a result, I have too many clothes that I no longer wear or fit into – most have been kept in the hope that one day I will fit into my pre-pregnancy (x3) jeans. But in the meantime, I have a dilemma – I need new clothes – do I buy a bigger size or up the exercise so that I will hopefully fit back into all my clothes? I’m not talking about my super small sized clothes here but the ones that are a dress size or two smaller – I mean I am working on losing weight for my wedding that will hopefully take place next year but until then I just don’t know what to do. This leads to another dilemma – The cost -I don’t want to spend too much on lots of new clothes at my current size. I think that the best thing to do at the minute would be to add a few things to my wardrobe – staple items that can be worn over and over and changed/jazzed up with different footwear, accessories etc.
Underwear – Having new underwear always makes me feel better about myself. It has been a while since I have treated myself to new bras and pants though so a few new items will definitely be on my list of things to replace. It is important before buying a new bra to check your bra size to ensure you get the correct fit and style to suit your body shape. If you have low confidence in your body ( you never should be unhappy with yourself or the way that you look but I do know how hard it is to feel happy in a body you are trying hard to change) wearing the right fit of underwear could help you to love your curves and give you more confidence. I will be making sure my new underwear includes bras that can be worn strapless and can be worn with the different tops I wear most often.
Jumpers – I’m hoping that within the next month or so it will be warm enough to ditch my big coat. As I do most of the school runs on foot I end up getting rather warm and having to carry my coat most of the way home. I can’t wait for the days when a light jumper will do. David Nieper is just one of the websites I have been looking at for new tops and jumpers. I am loving this cotton jumper and think it would be a great item to add to my wardrobe.
Jeans – Skinny jeans are a must in my wardrobe. They go with anything and can be dressed up or down depending on where I am going. If I’m going to the bingo they are comfy and go with my boots or ballet pumps. If I’m heading to the cinema, a night on the town or for a meal with Matthew they look great with a pair of heels. At the minute I am loving the”Ashley Skinny Jeans” from Dorothy Perkins and will be adding at least two pairs of these jeans to my wardrobe, they’re on sale at the minute for just £12.80 a pair!!
Shoes – As the warmer weather arrives I plan on ditching my knee-high boots in favour of my favourite ballet pumps and flip-flops. I love being able to show off my newly painted nails and can’t wait to go buy new shoes. For the last few years, I have bought my ballet pumps from New Look. They have always worn well, fitted comfortably and lasted for months even though I do lots of walking in them.
What items are you planning to add to your wardrobe this spring?
