Recently I wrote about my dream bedroom and some of the things I’d like it to feature. I’m really excited about our future plans but as I mentioned they are a long way off and may not even come to anything at all. However, part of the fun for me is dreaming about how the finished room will look once all the groundwork is done and dusted. Here are some of the items I will be planning on adding to my room.
Blinds or Curtains – One of the things I said I’d like my room to have was roof windows and although I know I would love them I think, that I would need something to block out the bright sun in the summer months. Looking online I found the Colour Collection blinds designed by Scholten & Baijings. These are perfect for Velux roof windows and come in a range of colours/materials so there is bound to be a design to match any room decor.
Bedding – No new bedroom is complete without some nice new bedding. We must have at least 10 duvet sets for our bed but that still doesn’t stop me buying more when something I like catches my eye. Plus if I get my way and we have enough room for a new super-king size bed then our current bedding won’t fit it anyway so I’ll have to buy some new sets.
A Rug – There’s nothing like getting out of bed first thing in the morning and your toes sinking into a lovely warm rug. I’m not sure what colour I’d like but I’m a huge fan of grey, cream and black so I’m sure it will be a neutral shade that will go with everything.
Lights – I think the perfect light fitting finishes any room off perfectly. Whether you decide to have one or two lights, hanging lights or spotlights the choice is yours there’s so much available. At the minute I prefer traditional hanging lights with a lampshade and I’d love a bedside lamp with a shade to match.
Photo Frames – To finish my room off I’d have a few matching picture frames dotted around the room containing pictures of the boys, our pets and maybe even the two or three pictures of Matthew and I together (yes we only have a couple of pictures together).
What items would you include in your new bedroom?
