Gift Ideas For New Parents

It’s been 10 years since I was a new parent looking forward to my first Christmas as a mummy. This year my longest and one of my best friends is adopting a little boy. After years of heartache and torment she will finally get her first Christmas as a mummy and I can’t wait to celebrate some of it with them. Below are a few gift ideas that I think would make a great gift to any new parent.

When out and about with a new baby or small child, a changing bag is a must. I miss the days of having one as it used to contain everything we would need for the boys and more. I adore this bag with the Giraffe design as it is suitable for a boy or girl and is great value for money at just £8.99. The bag has a large space and 8 pocket. The shoulder strap is adjustable and can easily be attached to most pushchairs.

You can’t buy presents for the new parents without including something for the new child. Baby T – Rex is suitable for babies aged 12 months and over and is available from TRU, The Range, Amazon, Shop Direct and Express Gifts for around £19.99. Baby T-Rex is an adorable electronic dinosaur. He moves, speaks and sings many songs and nursery rhymes. You can press the three shape buttons on his back and Baby T-Rex will respond by walking and turning around, if you shake his rattle he will move too. Baby T-Rex is an educative toy that introduces first words, numbers, animal sounds and the habitats where they live. He is super cute and would be a great first present.

Changing essentials make a great gift as they are so practical for all those get together’s over the Christmas period. I wish Grab Bags existed when My Three were little. They contain everything you need for a single nappy change in one handy pack. They are perfect for putting in your pocket or a handbag if you don’t want to take a huge changing bag with you. they are ideal to take shopping or when friends and family. Each Grab Bag has an RRP of £1.99 and are available in different sizes so perfect for all little bottoms.

Chirstmas isn’t Christmas without a lovely big dinner but if you have a little one who is just starting solid foods or a little one who can only eat pureed food’s Ella’s Kitchen Christmas Dinner Pouch (£1.39 each) is a great substitute for the real thing. Made from organic turkey, potatoes and vegetables each pouch is perfectly balanced for growing babies and Santa’s little helpers. This Christmas Ella’s Kitchen will be donating at least 30p from the sale of each Christmas Dinner pouch to help children in the UK with Save the Children. The money raised will support Save the Children’s Families And Schools Together (FAST) programme, which works to strengthen bonds between families to make sure little ones get the support they need to fulfill their potential – at school and in life.

Huggies “Style on the Go” pouches come in three designs and are easy to refill! They are easy to use and handy to carry with you when you’re out and about. They’re free from perfume, alcohol, parabens and phenoxyethanol, and, like all Huggies wipes, are made with natural absorbent fibres for beautifully healthy skin, an ideal item to keep in your bag and one that would make a great filler for a new baby hamper.

Winter is well and truly here and anyone with a little one knows what little moneys they are for kicking off their blankets in the middle of the night. I think a Grobag would make a great Christmas present for a little one. Priced at £26.99 the Little Dino Grobag is both very cute and practical. It has a clever travel opening so it can be used with a 5 point travel harness in a car seat or pushchair as well as on a night in a crib or cot. All Grobags are available in 2.5 tog or 1.0 tog warmth ratings and available in sizes 0-6 months, 6-18 months or 18-36 months. The 0-6 month sized bags have underarm poppers on them for easy of access to your little ones.
