Autumn Craft Fun With Baker Ross

My Three love to get creative – me not so much. You see it’s not that I don’t like making things it’s just that I’m not very good at it – I never have been and I suppose sometimes as a parent I feel that my lack of being good at making things means that the boys miss out on getting to make stuff at home. Well, that was until we became Baker Ross Ambassadors. In fact, Baker Ross are my saviours.

Recently we were sent some products from their Autumn range. I absolutely love the sets that we were sent as do the boys. The thing that I love most about Baker Ross products is that the majority of them come in sets – perfect for those of us with more than one child and each set contains everything you need, in one place. Most of the time all the pieces you need are already cut and are sticky backed so all you need to do is peel and stick. Brilliant for little ones and even better for us mums who aren’t very good at getting creative.

The first activity we got stuck into was creating our Animal Cross Stitch Kit, priced at £3.49 for a pack of 5 or £13.20 for a pack of 20 – perfect for children’s parties or autumn themed school activities. The kit we were sent contained 5 woodland animals – an owl, a fox, a hedgehog, a squirrel and a bird. We started by colouring our chosen animal. I love that the holes are pre-punched so that there is minimum fuss when it comes to creating your masterpieces. All you have to do is thread the safety needle and then follow the simple instructions (included in the kit). This activity is suitable for children aged 5 and over. James loved colouring in his animal and doing the cross stitch on his owl. He needed a little help from myself with threading the plastic needle and tying the ends once all the sewing was done.

The second activity we got stuck into was our Hedgehog Sewing Kit. Each kit comes in a pack of two priced at £4.70 or a pack of 10 for £19.90, again a great set for parties or school activities. The kits are suitable for children aged 5 and over. Each kit comes with everything you need to make your very own cute hedgehog pillow. Inside the kit you will pre-cut felt shapes, self-adhesive felt pieces, wool, a plastic needle and stuffing. Again James found this activity relatively easy to do by himself as the holes were already made so he could guide his own needle in the right places. He needed very little help from myself. But as you can see from his picture below he was very happy with his finished cushion. I like that the kit comes with self-adhesive felt pieces as this means less mess and no glue – which can be very messy on fabric.

All Baker Ross products are reasonable priced so they don’t break the bank. Most activities come as a pack of at least two so there is always plenty to keep your little ones busy. My Three love their crafting sessions and we always look forward to when our next box arrives as we never know what to expect as there is just so much to choose from.
