Recently I was asked to take part in a little project. The aim of the project is to help spread the word about fleas and ticks. If you are a dog or a cat owner then you should be helping your pet to stay protected against these ghastly little beasts. If you keep on top of flea and tick treatment then your pets will benefit in the long run and so will your home as you won’t have to spend a lot of time and money trying to control an infestation. Did you know that as well as being on your dog fleas are often found within their baskets, bedding, and other places where they may nap, including carpets and soft furnishings and even your bed if you allow them on it (we don’t) these should be treated with a household suitable flea spray and vacuumed regularly so that any eggs / newly hatched fleas are disposed of before they become a problem. But you must also treat your pet to rid them of any fleas on their body.
One product that you should consider when treating your pets is Frontline Spot On Flea Drops. It can be purchased for cats and dogs of all sizes (make sure you get the right pack for your pet). Ziggy and Pepper are regularly treated with Frontline as the product is so easy to use.
Frontline is a veterinary strength solution for the treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations and the control of biting lice. The drops act on contact and not via your dog’s blood allowing for easy application using the pipettes included.
Frontline kills 98-100% of fleas within 24 hours for approximately 2 months and kills ticks within 48 hours for up to 1 month, minimising the risk of disease transmission after treatment and fully controls infestations of lice within 48 hours. Frontline is safe to use on puppies from 8 weeks of age and weighing over 2kg you can also use it on pregnant and lactating bitches.
This product is for animal use only and should under no circumstances be administered to any animal other than that which is stated for. It should be kept out of reach of children and hands must be washed after use.You should make sure that you refer to the dosage and usage instructions provided with the product before administering it. However, if you are unsure on the usage of any of the Frontline products you should consult your Veterinarian who will be more than happy to advise you on its administration.
The drops are easy to administer and only take a minute to put on your dog. I know how easy it can be to forget to do something but you really should make time to protect your pet – if your child had headlice you would make sure they were clear wouldn’t you? and if you are a responsible parent (which most of us are) you would keep on top of the problem and regularly check to make sure that there isn’t anymore lurking.
It can be hard to remember when to flea your dogs so I always co inside it with the day that callum’s F1 Magazine comes through the post. It always arrives on the same day of the month as we have a monthly subscription. You could co inside fleaing your pet with paying a bill or on the day you are paid your wages if it’s easier for you to remember.
