I don’t know about you but we rarely get time to have a chilled relaxing weekend at home. The boys always have plans and as it’s the only time that both Matthew and I have off work during the week our time is often filled with housework and shopping or the occasional day out or a visit to see our family. The last thing we feel like doing is cooking massive meals so sometimes it’s nice to eat things that are quick and easy.
One item we all love to eat is burgers and sometimes at the weekend, we will order a takeaway so that neither of us has to cook and although not healthy as a treat we see no harm in eating them every so often. One of our new year’s resolutions though was to save money (we have a wedding to pay for) so we said we would cut down on the number of takeaways we eat and instead make our own.
Recently we were asked to take part in a challenge to see if we could make a quick and easy meal with a Rustlers Burger as the main item. This was easy for us the boys almost always order chicken burgers from the takeaway. We headed to our local Tesco store and bought our weekly shop including lots of things we wanted to eat with our burgers. To jazz up our twin pack of burgers we added a salad and some sweet potato chips – which we all love. I love that burgers are made from quality chicken marinated with a southern fried breadcrumb – this really adds flavour to the burger.
Although not a great item to eat all the time (is anything great all the time? – remember it’s all about everything in moderation). I think that Rustlers fit in well with the majority of families especially those who have a busy weekend schedule – while still creating meals that are fun occasions they provide a quick, convenient and affordable meal when us mums need it most – on a Saturday night in my case.
If you want to take part in the Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge for yourselves head to Tesco to purchase the twin pack of Southern Fried Chicken Burgers. What would you add to your burger?
