I have always had long hair – other than a trim here and there, some layers and the odd set of highlights. It has always been this way for as long as I can remember. Most days it’s tied up in a bun or a ponytail – both quick and easy ways to keep it out of the way as it takes so long to do anything else with it. The joys of having thick and naturally wavy hair. But I have to say that when I do make the effort to do something with my hair I love it.
A little while ago I was asked if I’d like to review some Lee Stafford Cordless Straighteners (£69.99) I agreed straight away as they sounded like something that would be right up my street and hopefully the start of making more of an effort with my hair.
Inside the box you will find:
- Power cable
- Heat proof mat
- Storage Bag
The straighteners are suitable to use on all hair types and can be used to straighten, wave or curl your hair. They can be used with or without the power cable – if you’re using them cordlessly they will retain their heat for up to 15 minutes and can be placed back in the heating base to warm back up again. I have only used them to straighten my hair but I look forward to trying to tame my wild waves in the future.
I found the straighteners easy to use and comfortable to hold and I loved that I could move to a different mirror if needed. To use them cordlessly you need to pop them in the base to heat up. They have a safety release on the cord so that it can’t just be plugged in or unplugged and both the base and the straighteners have to be switched on before they heat up.
- Tourmaline-ceramic plates – to give you soft, sleek hair – they generate extra negative ions for an anti-frizz finish.
- Soft touch rubberised finish – for easy grip and styling
- Retain heat for 15 minutes after removal from the heating base.
I found that the 15 minutes of heat wasn’t enough time for me to do all of my hair and had to reheat them a couple of times, so for me and my hair type the straighteners worked best when corded but that doesn’t mean I won’t use them cordless in the future – they will be great to use when my hair just needs a quick re-straighten first thing in the morning or when I need to get to a different mirror around the house and did I mention how great it is to not be restricted by a cord. However, I do think they would be great for someone who has finer and/or shorter hair than myself. They did glide effortlessly through my hair though and my hair felt very smooth with very little frizz which has been a problem in the past for me when straightening my hair.
I was really impressed with the finished result from using the straighteners. I wish that they lasted longer when cordless as they are so much easier to use without the restrictions of a cable getting in the way.
