IDO3D Vertical Review

My Three are very creative and love to try out new crafts when they get the chance. A little while ago they were asked to review the IDO3D Vertical from Flair. They couldn’t wait for it to arrive so that they could get stuck in with making their own models.

Inside the box you will find:

* Instructions
* 4 different coloured pens
* A spotlight
* Plastic transfer sheet
* Templates

IDO3D (£24.99) is suitable for children over 6 years old. It is quite fiddly and can be quite messy so make sure that your budding sculptors aren’t wearing their best clothes (or something you don’t want spoiling). IDO3D allows users to draw in 3D and create multicoloured 3D sculptures. The kit we were sent includes 3D templates and accessories to enable you to create up to 20 unique 3D projects! You can even buy more coloured pens and print off other themes so the fun will never end.

As you can see from the pictures below we made the 3D dinosaur (with a little help from Daddy for the trickier bits). We experimented with the different coloured pens and we think he looks pretty cool.

Although the spotlight can be attached to your pen, we personally found it easier for one of us to follow the creator’s pattern (this was a personal choice and you can do whatever is easier for you and your little ones). The plastic does set quite quickly but you do need to be patient as you don’t want to try to peel it from the transfer sheet

At first, we found that the pens were a little tricky to get used too and when you come to trying the set for yourselves you may wish to practice first to gauge how the pens work and also the setting times of the pens. We loved that the spotlight allows you to draw vertically in the air – again practice is needed with this as it is quite tricky but very fun once you’ve got the hang of it.

Overall, we had lots of fun making our 3D models. The set will keep you busy but as I said before you must make sure you practice before expecting perfect results as it really does take a little getting used too. I think the IDO3D will definitely be on a few Christmas lists this year.
