When I was a little girl I always wanted a Mr Frosty… he was the toy everyone wanted and yet nobody seemed to own one… Many of my friends and fellow bloggers have all stated that they wanted a Mr Frosty too when they were younger when asked if they remembered the original Mr Frosty from our childhood. Recently My Three were asked if they’d like to review the new and revamped My Frosty. They didn’t have to time to say no (even if they wanted to) as I really, really wanted to review this toy for myself. I wanted to know if after all this time if Mr Frosty was as good as I thought he would be as a child.
2016 Mr Frosty is very much improved and is now a very child-friendly snowman compared to his 80’s alter ego – making yummy frozen treats has never been simpler or so much fun.
Inside the box you will find:
- 1 Mr Frosty The Ice Crunchy Maker
- 3 ice lolly moulds
- 2 Mr Frosty spoons
- 1 penguin juice dispenser
- 2 Shaped ice tray moulds
- 2 Mr Frosty bowls
Mr Frosty is suitable for children aged 3 and over. He comes with everything you need to create crunchy ice, fruity ice shapes and ice lollies! You can use Mr Frosty to add ice to make refreshing drinks – simply add some ice under Mr Frosty’s hat and turn the handle to crush it. You can make lovely slush drinks / treats by putting the ice into one of the Mr Frosty cups and using the Squeezy penguin to add your favourite juice or cordial. One big difference from the old Mr Frosty is that there is no sugary syrups included anymore meaning that both parents and children have the choice to make their frozen drinks as healthy as they want too.
A really useful tip when using Mr Frosty *Make sure you use ice that has been left out for 20 – 30 minutes so that it’s able to soften a little. This makes the handle easier to turn for the little people*.
Kids can also use the ice lolly moulds and shape trays for even more fruity creations. Simply put your favourite fruity drinks into the moulds and place them in the freezer, then take them out and they’re ready to enjoy. You can also put the frozen shapes under Mr Frosty’s hat and turn the handle on his back to create tasty crushed ice treats for everyone.
We really love the new and improved Mr Frosty. The handle is easier to turn so that the slush is easy to make. James loves making slush drinks and treats for everyone – I can see this being his favourite hobby in summer when the warm weather arrives properly. We are looking forward to trying other flavoured slushies soon too. I love anything cherry flavoured so will be sure to make some cherry flavoured slush and ice cubes.
Mr Frosty is available from both Smyths and The Entertainer and costs just £19.99. He is part of a collection of frozen treat making toys including an Ice Cream maker that’s due out later this year…
