Celebrating British Food Fortnight

Did you know that we are in the middle of British Food Fortnight (19th September – 4th October). If you said no, you’re not alone as neither did I until a few days ago. But My Three and me couldn’t let the occasion pass by without making our favourite British dish.
One of my favourite meals is Fish and Chips. I love it when we visit the seaside but I also love to eat it as a treat at home too. We have decided that we’ll have our own Fish and Chip tea at home one night this week to celebrate. 
Our at home version of fish and Chips is so much healthier than the seaside version as we cook ours in the oven. In my opinion they taste just as good plus we don’t have the fear of being dive bombed by the seagulls for our food.
Battered Cod & Chips

Serves: 2
Total cooking time: 20 minutes
What You Need:

Whitby Seafoods battered cod
• Oven chips
• Mushy peas

To make your own tartar sauce:

  • Stir together mayonnaise, chopped gherkins and capers
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a pinch of fresh coriander
  • Season to taste
