Enjoying Kate's Cakes and A Brew

I love nothing better than a good cup of tea, a slice of cake and a good old gossip with my best friend. We've been friends since we were in Primary School but with us living in Yorkshire and her living in the Midlands we don't see each other as often as we'd like but when we do we can chat and natter until the cows come home and it's like we're never away from each other.

So I bet you can imagine my delight when I recently received a very lovely parcel from Kate's Cakes. Inside there were some cakes, tea bags, a cake stand and two mugs - the perfect parcel to arrive just a day or so before the bestie was due a visit.

I was sent two boxes of Lemon Dizzle Cake to try. In each box there were 5 individually wrapped cakes. Each cake is just the right size to enjoy but not get sick of or feel sick from eating too much. The cakes are very soft and moist - which is what I would expect from a sponge cake and I love that they have little sugar pearls on top for decoration - they take away the slight tangy taste of the zesty lemon juice that they are drizzled in. They taste even better with a cup of your favourite tea.

If Lemon Dizzle Cake doesn't take your fancy there are other cakes in the range including Chocolate Fudge Cake. You can buy Kate's Cakes in Tesco stores for £1.99 a box.
