To celebrate this month’s launch of VTech’s new InnoTab MAX VTech are giving the nation’s budding young writers the opportunity to have their short story published exclusively as an InnoTab e-book.
They are asking children aged 4 – 8 to write a short story of no more than 500 words. Stories will be judged by Best Selling Children’s author Terry Deary, known for his gruesome ‘Horrible Histories’ series.
The winning entry will be turned into an InnoTab e-book and be available to download on the new InnoTab MAX. The winner will also receive the new InnoTab MAX, as will six runners up.
The competition is open from Monday 6th October 2014, and closes on Wednesday 22nd October 2014. Entrants can enter as many stories as they like.
Terry Deary, children’s author, said, “Children can be at their most creative when they have the opportunity to explore their imaginations through words. I’m looking forward to pouring over the entries, and to seeing the winning story developed into an e-book.”
The InnoTab MAX is the newest addition to the award-winning InnoTab family. It’s the first high-tech tablet to feature an Android operating system, giving the performance of an adult device, specifically designed for kids.
Clive Richardson, Marketing Director, Vtech, commented, “We’re excited about launching the InnoTab MAX later this month, and even more thrilled to give one youngster the chance to have their short story turned into an e-book. The devices are proven to encourage learning and development and we hope that our short story competition will further inspire young people to read – a vital life skill.”
