Fellowes Powershred 63Cb Cross-Cut Shredder

The Fellowes Powershred 63Cb cross-cut shredder is the ideal shredder for both personal use and light to medium shredding requirements in an office. It is the perfect shredder for us as we get a reasonable amount of letters with personal details on them, that need to be destroyed. I try to keep up to date with my paper work on a monthly basis I remove letters and things that we no longer need. Sometimes we can have a lot of paper that needs shredding. If we didn’t use a shredder I would worry that one of us would become a victim of identity theft.

The Powershred 63Cb can shred up to 10 sheets of paper at a time. The sheets are cut into 4x50mm cross-cut particles. Cross-cut shredding is better than vertical shredding as it gives a higher level of security and protection against information and identity theft so you can be sure that any thing you shred has been disposed of appropriately.

The Powershred 63Cb has a Jam Blocker feature. It blocks paper jams before they start. For extra peace of mind the 63Cb also features SafeSense Technology so that when a hand touches the paper entry feed the shredder stops shredding – an ideal feature if like me you have children or pets.

The shredder is energy efficient and has an Energy Savings-System. It reduces in-use energy consumption and powers down after periods of inactivity. If you have a lot of shredding to do the 63Cb can shred continuously for up to 8 minutes until it needs to cool down and comes with an easy empty 19 litre pull-out bin, so you can do a reasonable amount of shredding before you need to empty the bin. I love that the shredder can shred staples, paper clips and credit cards too so there is no need to take them out before shredding. If you put something in the shredder that can’t be shredded it will light up on the panel that there is something in the paper entry that shouldn’t be.

The shredder comes with a 2 year full warranty and a 5 year cutter warranty. You can purchase the shredder from online retailers such as Amazon and Ryman for around £130.
